Nate Silver was out of position in a heads-up pot on a board of {q-Hearts}{k-Spades}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Hearts} with around 35,000 in the middle.

Silver led out with a river bet of 22,000 and his opponent gave the situation some thought.

"I played with my friend Terry the other day and he did this exact same thing on the river," the opponent said.

The player folded and Silver took down the sizeable pot.

"It's never a bluff," the player said. "I laid down a good hand."
