Stepuchin's Squawks Heard Across the Amazon
Level 5
: Blinds 300/600, 600 ante
All eyes were on the Amazon Purple section around 9:55 p.m. Pacific Time as Frank Stepuchin let out a series of guttural squawks that "sounded like a platypus mating call," as one table mate put it.
Stepuchin appeared to do so spontaneously and not because of the outcome of any particular hand. The racket caught the attention of cameramen and floor personnel, one of whom asked Stepuchin what he was drinking and admonished him to "tone it down."
"Next outburst like that, I'm going to come eat that chicken wing," the floor man said, referring to Stepuchin's trademark plastic chicken wing.
After the outburst, Stepuchin noted to PokerNews that the platypus is one of only two egg-laying mammals.
