Villamarin Heater Sends Him Toward Chip Lead

Level 17 : 40,000/80,000, 80,000 ante

After being put to the test for his tournament life against Jason Koon and calling correctly with a rivered top pair, Carlos Villamarin just won a huge pot off Ren Lin to now challenge Koon for the chip lead.

On a turn board reading {7-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{q-Spades}, Villamarin checked to Lin, who bet 150,000. Villamarin replied with a check-raise to 675,000.

Once again, Lin dropped a "no gamble no future" reference as he moved all-in for 2,240,000 effective.

Villamarin snap-called and showed Lin the nuts.

Carlos Villamarin: {k-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Ren Lin: {a-Spades}{q-Diamonds}

The {3-Clubs} on the river couldn't save Lin, and his stack was shrunk below two million, while Villamarin soars over five million.
