Arieh Doubles Again Through Lau, Tops One Million

Level 11 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Josh Arieh
Josh Arieh

Shortly after Josh Arieh doubled up against Ka Kwan Lau, the two tangled in another massive pot that left Arieh the tournament chip leader.

Arieh got his last 515,000 in the middle on a flop of {9-Hearts}{3-Spades}{k-Spades} and flopped top set with {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}. Lau was drawing to a flush with {a-Spades}{j-Hearts}{10-Clubs}{2-Spades}.

Lau completed the flush on the {7-Spades} turn and left Arieh needing the board to pair to stay alive in the tournament. He got that wish when the {7-Clubs} fell on the river.

"Did Josh get lucky again," Daniel Negreanu asked from another table.

"He had 14,000. Now he's chip leader," tablemate Robert Mizrachi replied.
