Jeff Lisandro Leads After Day 1 of Event #78: $10,000 Razz Championship
Day 1 of Event #78: $10,000 Razz Championship has been played to completion with Jeff Lisandro emerging as the current chip leader after bagging 270,500 in chips. Lisandro, who has been largely absent during the 2021 World Series of Poker, was able to steadily accumulate his stack throughout the day and will be looking to make a run at winning his seventh gold bracelet.
Day 1 drew a total of 103 entries with no shortage of big names, as is the case in all championship events. Some notables who managed to bag into Day 2 include Jordan Siegel (200,000), Adam Owen (178,000), Brian Hastings (212,000), Yehuda Buchalter (163,500), James Chen (94,000), Allen Kessler (41,000), and 16-time bracelet winner Phil Hellmuth — who is second in chips after bagging 237,500.

Not all were as fortunate. By the end of play, only 58 remained. Among the early casualties were Daniel Negreanu, Alan Myerson, Michael Noori, Mike Matusow, Yuval Bronshtein, David "ODB" Baker, and Anthony Zinno, who fell late in the day after getting all in by third street in a multiway pot and losing to John Racener's eight-smooth.
Day 2 will begin tomorrow at 2 p.m. local time and resume at level 11 (4,000/8,000 limits with a 1,000 ante). Unlike Day 1, the remaining field will play seven 90-minute levels. Players will receive a 15-minute break at the end of each level and a 60-minute dinner break after level 14 (approximately 8:30 p.m.)
