Ribeiro Eliminates Negreanu

Level 12 : 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Fernando Ribeiro
Fernando Ribeiro

Fernando Ribeiro and Daniel Negreanu got involved in a hand with the board showing {3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and the pot was already over 25,000 in chips.

Negreanu bet 10,000 and was called by Ribeiro. The turn was {10-Hearts} and again Negreanu bet this time 15,000 leaving himself with only 33,000 behind.

Ribeiro made the call to see a river which was {4-Diamonds} and Negreanu went all-in. Ribeiro went into the tank before deciding to make the call and Negreanu showed {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} and said "I told you I wanted to go home."

Ribeiro showed the ace-high {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs} to scoop the pot and eliminated Negreanu.

Set of Queens for Melanie Weisner

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante
Melanie Weisner - Xuan Liu
Melanie Weisner - Xuan Liu

Melanie Weisner was on the button and made a bet of 50,000 into a board showing {9-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}. Tad Macaraeg was in the small blind and had originally checked.

The pot was already over 50,000 in chips and Macaraeg went all-in putting Weisner at risk but she quickly made the call.

Melanie Weisner: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Tad Macaraeg: {a-Clubs}{q-Clubs}

It was Weisner set of queens versus Macaraeg top two-pair and the river was a meaningless {6-Diamonds} as Weisner scooped in a big pot to double her up.

Riess Gone; Henson In

Level 11 : 1,000/2,000, 2,000 ante

Ryan Riess had lost an all-in pot with {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} versus another players' {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} and failed to find any improvement, which left him with 7,000.

After that, Riess went all-in under-the-gun for 7,000 and was looked up by the button and the two hands were tabled.

Ryan Riess: {j-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Button: {k-Hearts}{10-Clubs}

The board ran out {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{a-Spades}{q-Hearts}{3-Spades} and Riess was eliminated from the tournament.

One table over, Ray Henson sat down in the tournament.
