Michael Liang Eliminated in 2nd Place ($515,014)

Level 23 : 125,000/250,000, 250,000 ante

Michael Liang

Michael Liang shoved all in for his last 2,500,000 on the button and Tyler Cornell made a relatively quick call after looking at his cards.

Michael Liang: {k-Spades}{2-Diamonds}
Tyler Cornell: {a-Clubs}{2-Clubs}

Cornell was in a dominating position looking for his first WSOP gold bracelet. The dealer spread the flop of {a-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} and Cornell took a commanding lead with a pair of aces. The {10-Diamonds} on the turn gave Liang some hope with a flush draw, but the {2-Hearts} on the river only improved Cornell to two pair.

It was a short but interesting heads-up battle where Liang never gave up and started to mount a comeback, but Cornell was able to stave off some resistance to capture the title. A full recap of Cornell's victory will be posted shortly.
