Spunt Turns a Straight

Level 6 : 300/600, 600 ante

On a flop of {q-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Spades} the player in the small blind led out for 2,000 and all three other players in the hand made the call.

The turn was the {3-Spades}, and the small blind led out again, this time for 8,000. Steve Spunt was next to act and raised to 20,000 and the action folded back around to the player in the small blind. After a few seconds, he piled in his stack of just over 40,000 and Spunt snap-called.

Small blind: {q-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Steve Spunt: {7-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Spunt had turned a straight against his opponent's two pair and was able to avoid the paired board when the {7-Spades} landed on the river.
