Hawkins Gains Momentum

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante
Maurice Hawkins
Maurice Hawkins

Maurice Hawkins picked up momentum following a few early hands.

Hand one: The flop was {j-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Hawkins had bet 2,800 to the only other player in the hand and he mucked. Hawkins then said "some people you don't want to wake up."

Hand two: Hawkins limped in from early position and another player raised to 2,100. It folded around to Hawkins who also mucked.

Hand three: From early position Hawkins raised to 1,000 and only the button made the call. The board was checked all the way down to the river to read {k-Spades}{6-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}{6-Diamonds}. The button bet 1,800 which Hawkins snap-called and showed his {a-Diamonds}{q-Clubs} which was good to win the pot.

Another player at the table said "I didn't mean to wake you up Maurice" Hawkins smiled and said "you woke me the f*** up".

Wilkie Gone

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Steve Wilkie's seat was empty and his tablemates briefly filled recapped some of the action.

The board read {4-}{6-}{7-}{6-} and Wilkie had gotten most of his chips in the pot versus John Ho. The river came an {a-} and Wilkie put the last of his chips in and Ho called.

Steve Wilkie: {a-}{5-}
John Ho: {6-}{8-}

Wilkie had rivered two pair with aces and sixes, but Ho held a six for three-of-a-kind to win the pot and eliminate Wilkie.

Siegel Finds A Flush To Double

Level 2 : 200/300, 300 ante

Action picked up on the flop of {4-Clubs}{7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. Eric Siegel raised to 6,900 after an out of position player had already bet. The opponent then went all in for 42,000 and Siegel called with the smaller stack.

Siegel: {9-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Opponent: {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The turn came the {4-Hearts}, giving Siegel a flush. The check mark was not a sure thing as his opponent was still drawing to a higher flush. The river however came the {7-Diamonds} for Siegel to scoop.
