Sylvain's Kings Run Into Aces

Level 23 : 20,000/40,000, 40,000 ante
Sylvain Naets
Sylvain Naets

Action was picked up with a preflop raise to 80,000 which had three callers, one being Sylvain Naets. Pedro Neves, in the small blind, raised to 310,000 and action folded back to Naets who went all-in for 2,100,000. Neves snap-called.

Sylvain Naets: {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}
Pedro Neves: {a-Clubs}{a-Hearts}

Naets was down to two immediate outs before the flop and on the turn of {2-Clubs}{2-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} he still had to draw to one of the the last two kings in the deck. The {q-Spades} river did not improve Naets and he was eliminated from the tournament. Neves now has one of the biggest stacks in the event with over 5,000,000 in chips.
