Guay Gets Value With Top Flush

Level 36 : 400,000/800,000, 800,000 ante

From the small blind, Frank Lagodich raised and David Guay defended in the big blind.

The flop came down {a-Spades}{a-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}. Lagodicth bet 800,000, Guay called.

The turn was the {7-Spades}. Lagodich led again for 2,800,000 and Guay came along for the ride to the river which came the {10-Spades} to put three spades on board.

Lagodich led with a small downsized bet of 1,400,000. Guay took his time before cutting out a raise to 10,300,000. Lagodich looked uncomfortable immediately and moved around in his chair staring down Guay. Eventually, after a couple of minutes, he called.

Guay tabled the {k-Spades}{3-Spades} for the top flush. Lagodich showed visible frustration, angrily mucked his cards and walked away from the table to cool off as Guay collected the big pot.

Jeff Platt's chip stack was hovering around a few blinds for a while after some shoves and no calls. There were a few times he was unwilling to call a shove, but finally, there was a shove and a call as Platt moved all in for 8,400,000 from under the gun and big stack David Guay called from the big blind.

Jeff Platt: {a-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}
David Guay: {k-Spades}{j-Diamonds}

Platt's large rail yelled for the board to hold but the flop came {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{7-Hearts} to hit Guay and send him into the lead. The turn was the {10-Clubs} to give Platt a gutshot. The dealer paused for dramatic effect before dealing the {9-Spades} on the river which was not enough for Platt as his memorable run ended in a fourth place finish.
