Castelluccio Flops a Set to Take From Monnette

Level 19

Limit Hold'em

John Monnette won the $10,000 Limit Hold'em Championship earlier in this series but just took a big hit to his stack during the last round.

Monnette, Scott Castelluccio, and Mark Bassaly went to a flop of {7-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Diamonds} and Monnette bet. Both opponents called.

Monnette bet again on the {j-Hearts} turn and Castelluccio and Bassaly called. On the {8-Hearts} river, Monnette and Bassaly checked, then Castelluccio slid forward a stack of yellow 1,000 chips. Monnette called, while Bassaly folded.

Castelluccio turned over {4-Spades}{4-Clubs} for the flopped set of fours to take the big pot.
