Abrams Makes Huge Laydown to Preserve Tournament Life

Level 33
Scott Abrams
Scott Abrams

Pot-Limit Omaha 8 or Better

Scott Abrams could have gone broke in a recent pot to Hernan Salazar, but is still in the tournament thanks to a brilliant laydown.

Abrams defended his big blind to a raise from Salazar preflop, then checked a flop of {q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{2-Hearts}. Salazar bet 300,000 and Abrams called.

On the turn {a-Hearts} Abrams again checked, but this time faced a bet of 1,150,000 from Salazar.

Abrams went deep into the tank with three million left in his stack. After a couple of minutes, Abrams folded and asked Salazar for an "I'll show you mine if you show me yours" agreement. Salazar obliged and showed {a-Diamonds}{a-Spades} for a turned full house. Abrams showed the case {a-Clubs} along with {2-Diamonds} for what would have been an inferior full house.
