Apte Wins on the Flop

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Gabriel Andrade opened to 250,000 from the hijack and Girish Apte three-bet to 600,000 on the button. The blinds folded and the action was back on Andrade who called.

The flop came {a-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Andrade checked to Apte who continued with a bet of 400,000. Andrade thought for a minute before releasing his cards to the muck.

It's been a hesitant start to the final table on Day 3 with next to no post-flop action thus far.

Mathews Shoves on Caputo

Level 28 : 60,000/120,000, 120,000 ante

Brandon Caputo was sitting in the small blind and glanced over to Harvey Mathews on the other side of the table in the big blind. He asked how much Mathews had and he replied he had around 2,440,000.

Caputo raised to 350,000. Mathews took some time and then decided to shove. Caputo asked for a count and the dealer confirmed Mathews had 2,400,000 exactly. After considering it for a bit, Caputo opted to give up.

Seven Players Play Down to a WSOP Champion in Event #13: $3,000 Freezeout

Michael Gathy
Michael Gathy

Welcome back to the final day of Event #13: $3,000 Freezeout No-Limit Hold'em will resume play at Noon local time with seven players out of 720 entries returning to the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.

All seven players have secured at least $49,238 but will all be looking to grab a bigger share of the $1,922,400 prize pool. The eventual winner at the end of the day will walk away with $371,914 and the WSOP bracelet.

Brandon Caputo will come back in pole position as he bagged 7,280,000 last night which equals 60 big blinds at the start of play. But hot on his heels is someone who is no stranger to WSOP success, Michael Gathy with 6,700,000 in chips while Gabriel Andrade completes the top three with 4,900,000.

Gathy is the only person at this final table who has won a bracelet before, and not just one, he has four in his collection already. He is also the only player not representing the United States as he hails from Belgium. Craig Mason, Harvey Mathews, Girish Apte, and David Lolis will be trying their hardest to keep the win and bracelet here in the US.
