Final Table Action
The first player to fall at the final table was one who had made a name for himself just yesterday; Event #4: $400 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max bracelet winner Dean "TheRealYoshi" Morrow. Morrow found himself in a likely chop spot with ace-king against ace-king, but Nicholas "Mr.Magoo7" Lein made a four-flush to eliminate Morrow. Lein wasn't done there, however, as he quickly knocked out [Removed:321] "ColdCold" Farah and Charles "pokervanman" Alex-Barton in quick succession to bring the table down to six players.
Ben "Tallinn" Gazzola then found the hot hand, and went for a double knockout, waking up with aces when Francis "CheckCheckCh" Sharp and Travis "UnitedWeZag" Herzing both got their short stacks in. No miracles came for Gazzola's opponents, and Gazzola now had a stack to rival Lein's.
Lein then put the pressure on the remaining short stacks, first getting lucky by hitting a flush with rags after putting Conrad "TheReserve" Simpson in preflop, Lein had it the next time he got it in, though, with his ace-queen besting the king-queen of Thomas "96Tears" Davis to bring Lein heads-up with Gazzola with an over 2:1 chip lead.
Gazzola managed to take the chip lead back for a brief period, but lost a monster pot when his king-ten was outkicked by the Big Slick of Lein on a king-high board. Gazzola managed one double, and looked primed for a second when he woke up with aces against the threes of Lein. Lein had one last trick up his sleeve, however, and he made a straight on the river to crack Gazzola's aces, netting Lein a WSOP Gold Bracelet.
