WPTDeepStacks Pittsburgh Champ Ryan "DRIBRELLIK" Quail Seeking WSOP Gold

Level 5 : 60/120, 0 ante
Ryan Quail
Ryan Quail

Originally from St. Louis, 37-year-old Ryan "DRIBRELLIK" Quail is in Pennsylvania competing in the WSOP PA bracelet events.

Quail, who is married and has a five-year-old stepdaughter, started playing poker 25 years ago when he was just 12 years old. He learned with friends and continued competing through college. Nowadays, he frequently competes in both live and online tournaments.

Prior to the pandemic, he also played in his first-ever World Series of Poker (WSOP) and even made Day 3 of the "Big 50."

Later that year, Rivers Casino hosted the WPTDeepStacks Pittsburgh Quail emerged as champion. He conquered a field of 386 runners for a first-place prize of $77,001 in prize money, plus a $3,000 package to the WPTDS Championship. Prior to the win, he had under $5,000 in recorded scores. However, he said he had been getting coaching and it obviously paid off.

"I have a coach — Mr. Brigade — we have been working quite a bit on some ICM stuff, and it helped me quite a bit at the final table for sure," he told tournament staff at the time.

"It has been great," Quail said when asked how he felt about online poker coming to Pennsylvania. "I've been sort of surprised to see PA almost spearheading this type of action, considering they tend to lag behind when it comes to the passing of laws."
