The top 90 players finished in the money including Orson “Pay_son” Young (13th - $5,644), Ryan “Protential” Laplante (18th - $4,606), Bob "bobeads" Mather (30th - $3,179), Chris "Robotbob47" Moorman (34th - $3,179), Anthony "heheh" Zinno (41st - $2,789), Michael "miguelfiesta" Lech (50th - $2,400), and Phil "Lumestackin" Hellmuth (67th - $2,011).
Hellmuth bowed out in Level 24 (5,000/10,000/1,000) when "Pickitup" raised to 20,000 from the cutoff. Hellmuth was down to about 2.5 big blinds in the small blind and raised all in to 24,720, the big blind folded and Francis "Pickitup" Sharp called. Hellmuth’s ace-six was way out in front of ace-four, but “Pickitup” wound up making two pair to eliminate the “Poker Brat.”
Final Table Action
Gary "phiI_ivey" Kosakowski began the final table with a big chip lead and it didn’t take long for the first elimination to occur. It happened when Kevin "vamonospest" Lutz got his short stack all in preflop with jack-nine but failed to get there against the ace-nine of Chung “Vegasbroke” You.
From there, You went on a tear eliminating the next three players including Kosakowski in a game-changing hand. The chips went in with the former holding an ace-high flush draw against the latter’s set. The diamond flush came in and just like that Kosakowski was eliminated in fifth place.
Matt “RubberFist” Stout then ran ace-five into the aces of Williams to bust in fourth place before the short-stacked Joshua "zeal1906" Ray saw his king-five do down to the Big Slick of You.
Unfortunately for You, his momentum ended in heads-up play after he missed a straight draw and Williams doubled with a full house. The latter took over the chip lead and eventually closed it out after turning a straight against the two pair of You.
