Jeremiah "freestylerr" Williams Eliminated in 7th Place ($24,249)

Level 29 : 17,000/34,000, 3,400 ante

Brett "Metanemesis" Apter raised from the hijack and then called the 212,282 three-bet jam Jeremiah "freestylerr" Williams made from the button.

Brett "Metanemesis" Apter: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}
Jeremiah "freestylerr" Williams: {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}

Williams was ahead with his made hand and nothing changed after the {4-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} flop appeared.

The {j-Clubs} turn was safe for Williams and he was looking good to score the double until the {a-Diamonds} river paired Apter, ending his tournament.

WSOP Legend: 10-Time Bracelet Winner Phil Ivey

Level 28 : 14,000/28,000, 2,800 ante
WSOP Legend Phil Ivey
WSOP Legend Phil Ivey

Few poker players have captured the attention of the poker universe quite like Phil Ivey. There have been plenty of champions of the game who crushed it at the felt, but none who built up the mystique of Ivey, who remains to this day arguably the most magnetic player in poker despite results that no longer match his days of utmost dominance.

A day after the anniversary of Ivey's induction into the Poker Hall of Fame, PokerNews examines the legacy of his WSOP success. Prior to 2000, Ivey didn't have any recorded WSOP cashes.

The 23-year-old didn't waste any time establishing himself as one of the top up-and-coming players. That year, after already making one final table and finishing fifth, Ivey secured his first bracelet. He beat none other than fellow Hall of Famer Amarillo Slim Preston heads up to win Event #14: $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha, a rebuy event, for his first bracelet and $195,000. Three other Hall of Famers — Chris Bjorin, Phil Hellmuth and David "Devilfish" Ulliott — also competed at that final table, so shipping it was about more than just getting his first taste of gold. Ivey showed he could beat the best in the business.

Two years after that, though, would be when Ivey really showed he was the present and future of the game. In 2002, Ivey showcased his skills at limit poker in a big way.

Josh "YoelRomero" King Eliminated in 9th Place ($14,098)

Level 28 : 14,000/28,000, 2,800 ante

Josh "YoelRomero" King open-jammed for 311,058 from the cutoff and Jeremiah "freestylerr" Williams called from the button.

Josh "YoelRomero" King: {a-Spades}{4-Hearts}
Jeremiah "freestylerr" Williams: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop put King in the lead after pairing his ace but it was short-lived as the {j-Spades} turn gave Williams Broadway and the {6-Clubs} river ended King's tournament.

Jeff "NedrudRelyt" Madsen Eliminated in 10th Place ($11,198)

Level 28 : 14,000/28,000, 2,800 ante
Jeff Madsen
Jeff Madsen

Jeff "NedrudRelyt" Madsen jammed for 103,883 over a raise to 48,000, Brett "Metanemesis" Apter re-shoved and every one else folded.

Madsen had the {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} vs the {k-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} of Apter.

The board would not produce an ace as it ran out the {5-Diamonds}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and Madsen's run came to an end.
