Zappulla Flushed by Epstein

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante

Paul "PresicioN" Zappulla was all in preflop on the button for 97,492 and Zachary "thepepster5" Epstein called from the small blind.

Paul "PresicioN" Zappulla: {a-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{5-Hearts}
Zachary "thepepster5" Epstein: {k-Diamonds}{k-Spades}{5-Spades}{3-Diamonds}

The {10-Spades}{k-Clubs}{8-Spades} flop put Epstein well out in front with top set and a flush draw but Zappulla still held outs. The {5-Diamonds} turn did improve Zappulla but he needed either a jack or case five to fall on the river to stay alive.

Unfortunately for Zappulla, the {3-Spades} completed Epstein's flush on the river and eliminated him from the tournament.

WSOP Legend: Doyle Brunson's Final Bracelet

Level 22 : 6,000/12,000, 0 ante
WSOP Legend Doyle Brunson
WSOP Legend Doyle Brunson

At the beginning of the 2005 WSOP, Doyle Brunson remained the co-king of the all-time bracelet count, tied along with Johnny Chan at nine. However, as the series drew toward its close in late June, that was no longer the case — Chan had overtaken him by winning No. 10 to stand atop the mountain alone.

Brunson was already phasing out his tournament play, having cashed precisely zero times that summer and just three times in the previous two combined, although one had resulted in a bracelet victory.

When it came time for Event #31: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Handed, Brunson dusted off his tournament chops and made a run.

Miller Continues to Build

Level 21 : 5,000/10,000, 0 ante

Jeff "bortzork" Miller raised on the button and then called the 43,673 three-bet jam "Biggie77" made from the big blind.

"Biggie77": {k-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Spades}{3-Diamonds}
Jeff "bortzork" Miller: {a-Spades}{9-Hearts}{6-Spades}{5-Clubs}

The {4-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{a-Diamonds} flop paired both player's and Miller took the lead but "Biggie77" did hold a club flush draw.

The {9-Spades} turn improved Miller and "Biggie77" wanted a club on the river but the {8-Spades} paired the board instead, eliminating them from the tournament.
