Freedman Leaves Distefano Firing a Second Bullet

Vito Distefano
Vito Distefano

Blinds 40/80

Joey "Buffblastin" Couden raised to 160 under the gun and Vito "thesuitbig29" Distefano called off for 140 two spots over. Wendy "Cardthartic" Freedman then three-bet to 490 from the small blind and Couden called to see a {q-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}.

Freedman bet another 490, Couden called, and the {a-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Freedman bet again, this time 680, and Couden released his hand.

Vito "thesuitbig29" Distefano: {4-Spades}{4-Diamonds}
Wendy "Cardthatric" Freedman: {k-Diamonds}{a-Clubs}

Freedman turned the best hand and held on the {10-Clubs} river. Distefano was felted after the hand but opted to re-enter back to a 40,000 starting stack.

Marziotto First to Double

Blinds 40/80

"CN_23" opened under the gun for 320 and action folded to Robert "Marz5223" Marziotto who three-bet to 1,240 from the cutoff.

Action folded back around to "CN_23" who four-bet to 4,125 before calling the 43,865 jam from Marizotto.

"CN_23": {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades}
Robert "Marz5223" Marziotto": {a-Clubs}{k-Spades}

Marziotto had "CN_23" dominated and nothing changed after the {7-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{8-Clubs} flop.

The {k-Clubs} turn was a nice sight for Marziotto as it left "CN_23" drawing dead and the {6-Clubs} river secured him the pot.

Ian "apokerjoker2" Steinman Looking to Crush Another WSOP Online Bracelet Series

Ian Steinman
Ian Steinman

One WSOP Gold Bracelet. Three final tables. Fifteen cashes. That was the body of work of Ian "apokerjoker2" Steinman in last year's WSOP.com Online Bracelet Series, one that would be the envy of nearly everyone who fired in last year's version. Steinman, who already has been seeking action on some bracelet bets for this year's series, will be looking to duplicate his many deep runs and massive success this year.

Steinman's heater began last year with two final tables early in the series, with a fifth-place performance in Event #7: $800 NLH Knockout Deepstack for $24,578, followed by a sixth-place finish two days later in Event #9: $1,000 NLH 6-Max for $30,995. Steinman's bracelet would be earned late in the series, when he took down Event #27: $400 NLH Freezeout for $110,557 after beating Japan's Satoshi Tanaka in heads-up play. Steinman used these performances to take down the $100,000 Leaderboard competition of the WSOP.com portion of the series, which sent an additional $18,000 his way.

Steinman doesn't appear to be resting on his laurels in preparing for a summer of poker, however, already getting in some prep work by winning the Benny Binion Summer Shoot-Out at the South Point Poker Room for $65,000 after a three-way deal. As much as winning his first bracelet meant to Steinman, the quest for another crusher of a summer is on for the hyper-talented Steinman.

Welcome to Event #12: $500 NLH Turbo Deepstack

WSOP.com sign lights up the Pavilion Room stage
WSOP.com sign lights up the Pavilion Room stage

Another deepstack tournament is being held today WSOP.com with Event #12: $500 NLH Turbo Deepstack starting at 3 p.m. PDT.

Since this is a turbo event, the blinds will be 8-minutes but with it also being a deepstack tournament, the $500 buy-in gives players 40,000 chips to play with.

The tournament allows players to re-enter two times with each re-entry lasting only 30 seconds, so players will need to make sure they have enough funds in their WSOP.com account before the tournament starts if they plan on re-entering.

Late registration and the re-entry option will be open for the first 2 hours and 55 minutes of play. Tournament tickets are not usable for re-entry. This is a single-day event meaning the entire tournament will be played out online and the winner will take home a WSOP Gold Bracelet.

Last year, in Event #22: $500 NLH Turbo Deepstack, it was Allan “Treeoflife” Cheung who toppled a field of 1,579 entrants, earning his first WSOP gold bracelet along with $120,083. The final table included Daniel “juice” Buzgon (4th - $38,725), Brian “JackBogle” Altman (3rd - $53,291), and runner-up Myles "Shipthemoney" Kotler (2nd - $74,039).

This is the 12th of 66 bracelet events being held on WSOP.com (33 events) and GG Poker (holding the remaining 33 events).

All events will begin at 3 p.m. PST. Satellites are running on-site for as little as $1.
