Dario Sammartino Ends Day 1 In the Hunt for a WSOP Gold Bracelet in Event #20: $1,500 MONSTER STACK NLH
South Korea's Jerecho "choleeek89" Caballero made a late run at the end of Day 1 to bag as the chip leader of Event #20: $1,500 MONSTER STACK NLH Freezeout in the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online. The two-day tournament brought 1,080 entries for a $2,240,000 prize pool, and 24 players will come back tomorrow to battle for the first prize of $212,815 and the WSOP gold bracelet on GGPoker.
Italy's Dario Sammartino will enter Day 2 in second place after spending much of the day battling within the top ten on the leaderboard. Sammartino returns on Sunday to play for his first WSOP gold bracelet after previously finishing as runner-up in the main event of the 2019 World Series of Poker. This will be Sammartino's second final table of the 2021 GGPoker WSOP Online bracelet series after finishing fifth in Event #18: $5,000 Short Deck Championship.
Sammartino is joined by Shota "Daniel Negranue" Murakami, Eduardo "Ghazbaran" Rodrigues, and Timothy Cramer as the remaining top five chip leaders looking to catch Caballero on Day 2.

Day 2 will begin on Sunday August 29 at 1 p.m. GMT and the PokerNews live reporting team will be here to bring you all of the action as it happens. Players will play Day 2 all the way down to a final table before the blinds are adjusted so that the remaining chip stacks average 40 big blinds. During the final table the blinds will go up after a certain number of hands instead of every 15 minutes.
