Espen "_sennj_" Sandvik Eliminated in 2nd Place ($154,533)
It took just two hands for Joao Simao to grab the lead from Espen "_sennj_" Sandvik and then finish things off.
Simao opened for 880,000. Sandvik three-bet to 3,520,000 and Simao called. Both players checked the flop before Sandvik check-called a bet of 4,112,000 on the turn.
The river put four diamonds on the board and Sandvik jammed for 13,452,228. Simao used about four minutes of his time bank before he made the call with the second nut flush holding .
Sandvik whiffed the board with and Simao had Sandvik on the ropes with less than seven big blinds after the hand.
The next hand, Sandvik jammed his short stack and was called by Simao.

Sandvik was ahead but a bad beat was on the way after Simao paired his ten on the board to win his first WSOP gold bracelet along with the $206,075 top prize.
While Sandik was denied his second bracelet after previously shipping the 2019 WSOP Europe Event #5: €2,500 8-Game Mix for €75,246 ($84,058), he did go home with a tasty $154,533 consolation prize.
