Latest News from 2019 World Series of Poker: July 7

Scotty Nguyen did the shuffle up and deal baby so the Rio is hyped today!
The survivors of day 1c are all coming together today to battle it out and there is a massive field of three thousand six hundred and sixty four players and that is before any last minute late registration which was open until 11am today. Phil Hellmuth joined today and by level 2 he is down to just fourteen big blinds. Have a look at your top ten chip counts coming into the day.
Some other notables with massive chip counts are Kevin Martin, winner of big brother Canada season 5, Garrett Adelstein who appeared on Survivor and poker pro Jack Salter.

Today kicks off Day 1b of $1,111 Little One for One Drop. Or unofficially, the WSOP Main Event Bust out consolation tournament. Day 1a attracted 702 runners, including re-entries, and the subsequent flights are likely to draw larger turnouts, given the influx of players who will have been eliminated from the Main Event. 240 of those will be returning for day 2. The vast majority of contenders have been buying the full 40,000-stack in exchange for the $111-donation towards the One Drop Foundation so like I always say, keep it up with the re-entry, it’s for a good cause. Sitting down today we’ve spotted my pokernews podcast co-host [Removed:139], Niall Farrell and November Niner Fernando Pons.

If you couldn’t bring yourself to step foot back in the Rio for a couple days, don’t worry the schedule has an $800 six max event today at 3:30 local time.

Tomorrow is one of the most exciting days of the WSOP schedule in my opinion, all the fields of the main event will come together for the first time under one roof. The controversial added Final Fifty high roller begins tomorrow, as well as a 6-max. There is sure to be some great poker coming out of the city of sin tomorrow and if you are in town please join the PokerNews Podcast family at the Planet Hollywood at 7pm for the low cost of $150. I will be there and I can’t wait to see you there too!
