Straight over Straight for Addamo

In a single-raised pot with the board {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}, Michael Addamo was on the button and bet 42,240, check-called by Chi Zhang.

The {2-Clubs} river brought four to a straight and Zhang led out for 111,360. Addamo raised to 367,000 and Zhang called after some time, but was shown the bad news as Addamo rolled over {q-Spades}{6-Diamonds} for a six-high straight. Zhang had {a-Spades}{3-Hearts} for the wheel and surrendered the lead.

There is the Jam

Addamo Shoves Early
Addamo Shoves Early

The showdown between the two ultra high-stakers promised fireworks and it's sure been delivering thus far. Michael Addamo raised to 32,000, Chi Zhang three-bet to 134,400 and Addamo called.

The flop came down {j-Spades}{4-Spades}{9-Clubs} and Zhang bet 88,704, called by Addamo before both players checked the {2-Hearts} on the turn.

With the pot up to 446,208, Zhang fired a tiny bet of 44,672 on the {9-Spades} river. Addamo tanked before shoving all in for 1,425,336. Zhang spent over a minute in the timebank before giving it up.

Zhang Counters the Overbet

Action on a {7-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board remained quiet until the river, Chi Zhang checked and Michael Addamo bet 77,000 into a pot of 38,400.

After using up some of his timebank, Zhang put in a check-raise to 231,000 and this time, it would be the Aussie to let the seconds tick down from the clock. He gave it about thirty seconds of thought before letting it go.

"Expecting jam tbh," Zhang pipped in table chat. Addamo used the "Not sure if" emote, followed by a "Come on" emote from Zhang.

Malinowski Wins $842K Pot Off Addamo in Biggest-Ever Online NLHE Cash Game Hand

Malinowski vs. Addamo
Malinowski vs. Addamo

The action over at the GGPoker network has been heating up over the last month, with the 2020 World Series of Poker Online at the halfway point of their 54 bracelet-offering throughout the summer. However, it's not all tournament poker that's drawing the eyeballs, as some of the highest cash games the online poker hasn't seen since the glory days of Full Tilt Poker are happening over there as well.

In a $500/$1,000 cash game with a $1,000 ante, Wiktor Malinowski — famed under his online moniker "limitless" — and Michael Addamo played the biggest NLHE cash game pot on record. The massive clash happened over at Natural8, part of the GGPoker network, in an invitation-only VIP cash game. Alongside Malinowski, Chris Brewer, Tan "4321" Xuan", and "UnderO", who resides in Malta, completed the line-up.

First Three-Bet Pot to Zhang

While Alyssa McDonald and David Peters are starting off with small ball poker, Michael Addamo and Chi Zhang played their first three-bet pot with Zhang three-betting to 110,4000 and Addamo calling.

Both players checked the {k-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{j-Spades} flop and {2-Hearts} turn. Zhang bet 43,200 on the {9-Diamonds} river and Addamo folded. Zhang then won another three-bet pot with no postflop action to move up to over 2M.

Addamo, Zhang, Peters, MacDonald. The Final Four of the $10K Heads Up Will Play to a Winner Tonight

Can Alyssa MacDonald win the $10K Heads-Up?
Can Alyssa MacDonald win the $10K Heads-Up?

After six days of anticipation, Event #54: $10,000 Heads Up No Limit Championship will crown one of the four remaining players as a bracelet winner. Michael Addamo, Chi Zhang, David Peters, and Alyssa MacDonald are already guaranteed a payday of $124,160, but the coveted WSOP gold bracelet, $360,480 and a WSOPE package are on the line. Just two victories separate the final four from reaching poker's pinnacle in one of the most exciting events on the schedule.

The four are left standing from a field that started off with 128 hopefuls last Sunday. Here's how each of the finalists made their way through.

$10K Heads Up Bracket

Coming in from the top-left part of the bracket, Michael Addamo is the man in the spotlights this week, finding himself on the wrong end in the biggest online NLHE cash game pot on record. Addamo has been frequenting these swingy, ultra high-stakes games while playing for bracelets to add to his tally of 2 and $8M+ in tournament winnings.

Addamo's road to #3 won't be easy, as Chi Zhang is as tough as they come. Zhang is a fellow regular in the highest-stakes games around the world and arguably had the hardest road to the final four, eliminating Sean Winter, Erik Seidel, and Daniel Negreanu along the way. The showdown between the two high-stakes giants promises to be a treat.

On the opposite side of the bracket, a third high-roller emerged in David Peters. One of the most accomplished tournament professionals of all time with over $33M+ in lifetime cashes and a bracelet winner, Peters will find himself up against the wild card that's left, Canada's Alyssa MacDonald.

Predominantly an online player, MacDonald $6K in lifetime cashes might fade against Peters' piles, but the long-time online pro has plenty of accolades on the digital felt. In an interview with PocketFives, MacDonald mentioned she has made "well over a million USD in online cashes" during her career. She also defeated the red-hot Belarmino de Souza in the final eight to rightfully claim her spot. Will she be able to topple two of the three remaining giants, starting with Peters?

Cards will be back in the air at 6 p.m. UTC, and PokerNews live reporting will deliver blow-by-blow coverage of all the action. Make sure to check back regularly as the $10K Heads up reaches its conclusion!
