Hoang Makes Hero Call With Tournament Life on the Line

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

The board read {10-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Spades}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}, a pot of about 175,000 was in the middle. Ngon Hoang was facing a decision for his tournament life as big stack Sasha Liu put him to the ultimate test with a river all in bet.

Hoang hemmed and hawed, seemingly very torn over the decision. "Show if I fold?" he asked, to which Liu replied "What?" as if she did not hear the question.

"If you have to think this long...." said Liu, "I have something I can call with" replied Hoang. He thought it over for about 30 more seconds, checked the tournament clock, before spiking his remaining stack forward to indicate a call.

Liu turned over {8-}{8-} and Hoang triumphantly flipped over his {a-Clubs}{10-Spades} for the winning second pair. He jumped up from the table in relief and pumped his fist as his tournament was still alive and now with a substantial stack. Liu took the hit to her stack well, as she still sits with over a million.

Former English Premier League footballer Jimmy Kebe has lost a huge chunk of his chips of late and was spotted shaking his head after losing another pot.

He called 12,500 on the {4-Diamonds}{9-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} flop before folding to a further bet of 25,000 on the {10-Spades} river.

He sits on 128,000 which is currently less than half the tournament average.

Heimiller Smells Weakness

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Action on the table folded around to Dan Heimiller who opened for 14,000 on the button. Action was on the big blind player who took a few minutes, counted out his chips and made the call.

The flop came {9-Hearts}{j-Spades}{9-Clubs} and the big blind player checked his option to Heimiller who instantly moved all in.

The big blind player looked down at his hand once more before tossing them into the muck and Heimiller showed the {a-Hearts}{x-}.

Small Pot for Madsen

Level 14 : 2,500/5,000, 5,000 ante

Konstantin Puchkov opened in middle position, Jeff Madsen called to his left and Mike Holm made up the difference from the blinds, taking the trio to a flop.

On a {3-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop, it was checked all round. On the {q-Hearts} turn, Puchkov checked again and Madsen bet 18,500 into the pot. Holm folded immediately but Puchkov needed a few seconds to decide what to do. He gave it up and Madsen took the chips.
