Kurshumi Goes Out in Brutal Fashion

Level 8 : 400/800, 0 ante

Ardit Kurshumi was all in preflop for his last few chips with {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} against Gabriel Andrade's {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{7-Spades} and the board ran out {j-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{5-Spades}{9-Spades} to end his tournament life.

Kurshumi was very emphatic at the time of his bust out about the fact that the hand just witnessed was not the one on which to report. That hand, he said, "was special."

Action folded to Kurshumi on the button and he made it 1,600 to go. Karen Sarkisyan defended his big blind and the flop came {k-}{9-}{7-}-rainbow. Sarkisyan check-raised Kurshumi's continuation-bet of 2,400, committing the rest of his chips. Kurshumi quickly called.

Karen Sarkisyan: {a-}{j-}{10-}{6-}
Ardit Kurshumi: {k-Diamonds}{k-}{j-}{6-Diamonds}

As Sarkisyan tabled his hand, Kurshumi asked to the table, "what am I fading?" as he tabled his top set.

Andrade was on his direct right and responded, "nothing right now."

The turn came {a-Clubs} and Andrade amended his statement: "Now you're fading an ace."

He was indeed fading an ace and was unable to fade it when the river {a-Spades} brought the prettiest card in the deck, at least for Sarkisyan.

Moments later, Kurshumi was out of the tournament exclaiming that it was all good. With his head high and a smile on his face, he stated that he had taken 18th in this event last year and was going to re-enter and come back and win it.
