Palmer Doubles Through Woodward
Level 13
: 1,200/2,400, 2,400 ante
Pot-Limit Omaha
Mark Gregorich opened from early position to 5,500 and received calls from a player in middle position as well as both Josh Palmer in the hijack and Matthew Woodward in the cutoff.
The flop came and Gregorich and the player in middle position checked. Palmer bet 15,000 and Woodward raised to 70,000. Action folded back to Palmer and he stuck in his remaining chips of less than a full three-bet which Woodward called.
Josh Palmer:
Matthew Woodward:
Woodward was ahead with the nut straight and had a flush draw to go with it, while Palmer was in need of improvement for his set of nines. Luckily for him, the turn and river came to fill up a backdoor flush and secure the double, leaving Woodward on crumbs.
