Uncle Johnny Joins the Party

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante
John Esposito in 50K PPC
John Esposito in 50K PPC

John Esposito was just seen walking with chips in a rack to take his seat as the most recently-registered player in the field. He did not waste much time before firing this bird after finishing in third place in the prestigious $50,000 Poker Players Championship not long ago for a massive payday of $466,407.

Esposito is the second player of the day to have registered this tournament after being eliminated from the final table of the aforementioned Poker Players Championship. Bryce Yockey was the 4th place finisher in that event, earning $325,989 and was ready for some Omaha Hi-Lo as soon as he busted, having already built his stack up to around 90,000.

Flush Good for Yockey

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

Julien Martini had opened from the cutoff and was in the process of calling a three-bet to 6,000 from Bryce Yockey in the small blind. The flop came {7-Clubs}{j-Diamonds}{10-Spades} and both players checked. The turn was {7-Diamonds} and Yockey fired for 4,000. Martini made the call. Both players then checked the {9-Diamonds} river.

Yockey tabled {a-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Diamonds} for the king-high flush and Martini was unable to top it, sending his cards to the muck and finding himself with under 25 big blinds in his stack.

Monnette With Breathing Room

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

Action was limped four ways to a flop of {8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}. Nick Guagenti checked from the small blind and John Monnette checked behind him in the big blind. Chris Vitch was in early position and bet 1,100. Allen Kessler was on the button and called. Guagenti folded and Monnette called. Three players went to the {7-Hearts} turn and all three checked.

The river came {8-Diamonds} and Monnette led out for 4,000. Vitch and Kessler both folded and Monnette took down the pot without a showdown, having recently chipped up from 8,600 to nearly triple that.

Wilkerson Doubles With Set

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante

Dylan Wilkerson limped in from early position and the player to his left raised to 2,000. Nick Guagenti flatted on the button and Wilkerson made the call, taking action three ways to a flop of {j-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{8-Spades}. Wilkerson checked and the original raiser bet 5,000. Guagenti called and Wilkerson announced a pot-sized raise to 27,000.

After a few seconds, the original raiser announced a second pot-sized raise, which the dealer announced at 87,000. Guagenti got out of the way and Wilkerson called off his last 18,300.

Dylan Wilkerson: {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{3-Hearts}{3-Clubs}
Opponent: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}

Wilkerson was in the lead with a set of threes, though his opponent had direct outs to hit a flush and a low as well as more outs to hit a backdoor straight. The turn and river fell {q-Hearts}{9-Clubs}, clean as can be for Wilkerson to secure the double as the dealer counted his stack to confirm the figure.

Mouth Announces Pot

Level 6 : 300/600, 0 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow limped from early position and David "ODB" Baker raised to 1,500 from the cutoff. The player on the button called, as did Matusow and the three proceeded to a flop of {q-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{j-Hearts}.

Matusow checked and Baker bet 1,500. The player on the button called and Matusow announced a check-raise of the pot, 11,400 after about 15 seconds. Baker got out of the way relatively quickly and action was on the player on the button, who went into the tank for about 35 seconds before folding, showing {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts} face up while announcing that he was folding.

"I wanted you to fold!" Matusow exclaimed, tabling {k-Spades}{q-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} for Broadway as he collected his chips.

Matusow was allegedly down to 10,000 after three hands and is steadily along his journey back towards starting stack.

Teska Triples With Treys Full

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante
Roger Teska
Roger Teska

There was four-way action on a flop of {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{q-Diamonds} with a player from middle position all in. Action was on the cutoff, who had a bet of 3,000 in front of him already. He folded, putting action onto Roger Teska on the button who had a bet of 15,000 already out. He called all in for less than the original shove to put action on the small blind, who was the final player in the hand. The small blind asked for a count and ultimately made the call.

Small Blind: {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{2-Spades}
Middle Position: {a-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Hearts}
Roger Teska: {5-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

Teska was in the lead with a set of threes but both of his opponents had outs to hit straights and/or low hands. He was in shock, however, that not a single player had a flush draw.

The board ran out in his favor, {9-Hearts}{q-Clubs} and he earned the triple up. The small blind took down a small side pot with queens and nines while the player from middle position became one of only a few casualties in the tournament thus far.

Level 7 : 400/800, 0 ante

Alex Foxen opened from the hijack to 2,000 and received a call from the player in the big blind. The flop came {6-Diamonds}{k-Clubs}{3-Diamonds} and the big blind checked. Foxen made a continuation-bet of 2,200 and received a call.

The turn came {9-Diamonds} and the big blind checked to Foxen again, who fired a second barrel of 6,500. His opponent folded and he took down the pot.
