Hastings Makes the Right Call to Chop

Level 29 : 60,000/120,000, 0 ante

Brian Hastings raised to 250,000 on the button, and Nick Schulman called.

Both players checked the {7-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} flop, and Schulman checked the {6-Clubs} turn. Hastings bet 350,000, and Schulman check-raised to 1.4 million. Hastings called.

Schulman jammed on the {2-Clubs} river, putting Hastings at risk for his last 2.38 million. Hastings tanked for about two minutes before calling, and after Schulman revealed his {9-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts} for a nine-high straight and a live five for low, Hastings rolled over {j-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} for an eight-high straight and a better low, chopping the pot.

"I wasn't folding, so I figured I'd go ahead and just put it in," Schulman told Hastings.
