Sammartino Takes Two In Limit Hold'em

Level 16 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante

Limit Hold'em

Phil Hui raised from the hijack and Dario Sammartino three-bet from the cutoff. Action folded back to Hui, who called and the two saw a flop of {j-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}. Hui check-called a continuation-bet from Sammartino and proceeded to check-call all the way down on the {10-Diamonds} turn and {6-Clubs} river.

Sammartino tabled {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds} and won the pot with a pair of queens.

Two hands later, Jared Bleznick opened from the hijack and Sammartino defended his big blind. Both players checked through a flop of {q-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{q-Hearts}. The turn was {7-Diamonds} and Sammartino check-raised a bet from Bleznick. Bleznick called and then called another bet from Sammartino on the {9-Clubs} river.

Sammartino showed {q-Clubs}{10-Hearts} for flopped trips and Bleznick tossed his cards into the muck, finding himself with around two big bets nearing the end of the level as Stud Hi-Lo became the next game in the table's rotation.
