Welcome To Day 1 of Event #51: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better
With the longest day just beginning, summer solstice welcomes the next bracelet event to the schedule at the 2019 World Series of Poker! This afternoon at 3.00 p.m., Day 1 of Event #51: $2,500 Mixed Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better, Seven Card Stud Hi-Lo 8 or Better will begin.
Last year's edition of this event saw 402 players enter the tournament with the hopes of winning the famous gold bracelet. It took just shy of three full days for David Brookshire to accomplish that feat, emerging victorious at a final table that included three other former bracelet winners on it to earn a payday of $214,291.
This event is a unique one as it is the only tournament that represents a mix of the two split-pot games found within the H.O.R.S.E. rotation. With one portion being a flop game and the other stud, all players are sure to be tested on their overall poker prowess throughout the tournament.
Cards will be in the air at 3 p.m. local time this afternoon and players will begin play with a 15,000 starting stack, up from last year's event which was worth only 12,500 chips. The first level will start with limits of 200-400 and levels will last one hour each with a 15-minute break at the conclusion of every two levels. Like with all 3 p.m. events, there will be no dinner break.
Late registration will be open until the completion of Level 8 and its subsequent break at approximately 12 midnight local time with play set to continue until the completion of Level 10. PokerNews will be on the floor covering all the action, so stay tuned.
