Yu Down to One Chip

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

A lot of the action came on the river with the board reading {k-}{j-}{3-}{10-}{8-} where Josip Simunic led out from the big blind. Ben Yu pushed in all but 1,000 of his chips and Simunic quickly called.

Yu turned over {8-}{8-} for a set of eights but Simunic held {9-Hearts}{7-Hearts} for a straight. Simunic collected the pot and Yu was left with just 1,000 chips.

Deep Stacks Marques and Melogno Tangle

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

It's rare for clock to be called on someone not facing a bet, but a hand that threatened to pit the two deepest stacks on Table 450 ended with exactly this happening. Preflop Pedro Marques raised to 22,000, called in two spots, the button (Pablo Melogno) and the big blind. On the {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{6-Spades} flop, the big blind checked, Marques fired 18,000 and Melogno raised to 59,000. The big blind folded and Marques called. Both players checked the {5-Clubs} turn in timely fashion, but the {4-Clubs} river caused Marques to use one virtual timebank card and Melongno all of his.

So long did Melogno tank on the river when it was checked to him that another player at the table called the clock. Melogno was given 30 seconds, and checked his hand before his time ran out, mucking when he saw Marques' {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}.

Engel Cracks Simunic's Aces

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

After a couple of preflop raises, Ari Engel and Josip Simunic got all of the chips in the middle with Engel being the player at risk for 260,000. Simunic turned over {a-}{a-} while Engel held {10-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Hearts}{10-Diamonds} and Engel out-flopped Simunic with a full house. The {7-Spades} on the turn and the {7-Diamonds} on the river could not spoil Engel's double up.

Radoja Doubles Through Hoffman

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Mark Radoja, earlier stacked to the rafters, has not found the same success in the later levels and was down to 150,000 at the start of a hand that ended up doubling his chips. Radoja raised to 22,000 preflop, called only by an in-position Wilbern Hoffman.

Flop: {9-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. Radoja led out for 40,000 and Hoffman set him in (131,000 total); call.

"Sh*t," said Hoffman, neatly summing up his reaction to being called, then seeing the {10-Spades}{9-Spades} - top pair - in Radoja's hand, while he mustered {q-Hearts}{10-Clubs}. The turn and river ran out {3-Diamonds}{4-Clubs}, dropping Hoffman to 280,000.

Simunic and Sammer on Losing and WInning Sides of Same Big Flip

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Harald Sammer and Josip Simunic got involved in a short preflop raising war heads up, with the result that a 630,000 pot was up in the air between Sammer's {a-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} and Simunic's {j-Spades}{j-Hearts}, Sammer the player at risk.

The board ran out ace-free until it didn't: {8-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{9-Spades}{3-Hearts}...{a-Spades} and Sammer took charge of nearly both their stacks' worth of chips.

Bicknell Flops a Set to Double Up

Level 19 : 5,000/10,000, 10,000 ante

Kristen Bicknell pushed all in for 111,000 in middle position and the action folded to Truyen Nguyen in the big blind. Nguyen quickly called after looking at his cards and the two players were flipping.

Kristen Bicknell: {6-Spades}{6-Clubs}
Truyen Nguyen: {a-Spades}{q-Clubs}

The flop of {6-Hearts}{5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} put Bicknell in the driver's seat with a set of sixes. The {3-Hearts} on the turn provided some chop outs but the {q-Diamonds} on the river ensured Bicknell of a double up.

Yifrach Dominates Parker

Level 20 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante

The action folded to Brock Parker in the small blind who announced all in. Gal Yifrach was in the big blind with just 112,000 to start the hand and he made the call for his tournament life.

Gal Yifrach: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}
Brock Parker: {k-Spades}{3-Hearts}

Yifrach was in a dominating position and the flop of {q-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{4-Spades} put Yifrach way out front. The {5-Hearts} on the turn sealed the deal and the {2-Hearts} on the river was just a formality.
