McMaster Expanding His Lead

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Derek McMaster
Derek McMaster

John Esposito raised from the button to 200,000 and both Derek McMaster (small blind), and Jason Berilgen (big blind) called to see a flop.

The {a-Spades}{6-Hearts}{3-Spades} flop was dealt and all three players checked. The turn was the {3-Clubs} and McMaster lead out with a bet of 200,000. Berilgen called but Esposito got out of the way.

The {j-Hearts} river completed the board and McMaster put in another bet of 200,000. Berilgen called again but his {j-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{3-Hearts}{2-Diamonds} lost the pot to McMaster's {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}{6-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

David Halpern Eliminated in 4th Place ($70,231)

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
David Halpern
David Halpern

Action folded to David Halpern in the small blind, he made it two bets and Derek McMaster elected to push Halpern all in from the big blind. Halpern called for his 250,000 stack and the two turned over their hands.

David Halpern: {a-Spades}{6-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Derek McMaster: {k-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{2-Clubs}

The dealer fanned out {q-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} on the flop and McMaster took the lead with his pair of queens. An {8-Clubs} landed on the turn, giving Halpern some scoop and low outs, but the {j-Diamonds} on the river did not improve his hand as McMaster took down the pot with his pair of queens, sending Halpern out in fourth place for $70,231.

Level 31 : 100,000/200,000, 0 ante
Derek McMaster
Derek McMaster

Jason Berilgen opened in the cutoff, John Esposito called on the button and Derek McMaster defended his big blind. The dealer fanned out {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} on the flop and action checked to Esposito who bet.

McMasters was the only player to call and a {4-Hearts} peeled off on the turn. McMasters bet, Esposito made it two and McMasters instantly made it three bets.

Esposito mucked his cards, sending the pot to McMaster who smiled as he showed {6-Hearts}{3-Hearts} face up for a straight flush.

McMaster Extracts a Large Pot from Berilgen

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante

Derek McMaster opened in the small blind, Jason Berilgen defended his big blind and the flop came down {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}. McMaster bet, Berilgen pushed in two and McMaster called.

The {k-Diamonds} landed as a turn card, McMaster checked to Berilgen who bet and McMaster called. The {9-Hearts} came down on the river, McMaster pushed in a bet and Berilgen called.

Berilgen tabled {9-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{2-Spades} for a nine high flush and it would be no good when McMaster turned over {a-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{4-Diamonds} for the nut flush. McMaster moved back up to second on the leaderboard after that hand.

Joseph Aronesty Eliminated in 5th Place ($50,646)

Level 30 : 80,000/160,000, 0 ante
Joseph Aronesty
Joseph Aronesty

Joseph Aronesty sat on the button with less than a big bet and he called. He left himself with just 30,000 behind and Jason Berilgen called from the small blind. Big blind John Esposito checked his option and they went to the flop.

The dealer put down the {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop and Aronesty put his last 30,000 in the middle after it checked to him. Both players in the blinds called.

The turn was the {4-Spades} and both players checked. They did the exact same thing on the {k-Spades} river.

The cards were unknown but we can confirm that Joseph Aronesty busted out of the tournament in 5th place, cashing for $50,646.
