Gilbert Rockets Back Into Contention

Level 29 : 50,000/100,000, 100,000 ante

After Adam Demersseman raised from under the gun to 260,000, Benjamin Gilbert then three-bet shoved for his remaining stack. Action folded back around to Demersseman and when the dealer confirmed the extra amount needed to call, Demersseman made the call and saw the bad news.

Benjamin Gilbert: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}
Adam Demersseman: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}

The flop came down {6-Hearts}{9-Spades}{q-Diamonds}, and while Demersseman held some hope for the knockout after pairing his queen, Gilbert's aces held on the {2-Spades} turn and {8-Spades} river and gave him some much-needed chips at this stage of the tournament.
