Pauli Loses a Chunk

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Sebastian Pauli
Sebastian Pauli

The board read {a-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{q-Spades}{6-Clubs} and Sebastian Pauli bet 70,000 from early position. His opponent in mid-position shoved for 155,000 in total. Pauli contemplated his options for a while and opted to make the call. The other player held {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts} for two pair, aces and queens, and that was enough to make Pauli throw his cards into the muck.

Ross with a Nice Stack Early in Day 2A

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante

On a board of {6-Hearts}{7-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds} and already over 100,000 in the pot a player in middle position moved all-in. After a long tank John Ross eventually made the call.

Ross: {j-Hearts}{9-Hearts}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

The river came the {9-Spades} giving Ross the best hand and eliminating another player.

Romero's Bluff Failed

Level 14 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
James Romero
James Romero

Diogo Veiga raised to 14,000 from under the gun and was called by Herbert Hinterndorfer in mid-position and James Romero on the button.

They all checked through the {j-Clubs}{j-Spades}{6-Hearts} flop to the {4-Hearts} on the turn. Veiga bet 22,000 which Hinterndorfer called. Romero raised to 60,000 which only Hinterndorfer called in the end.

The river completed the board with the {6-Diamonds}, Hinterndorfer checked and Romero asked how much he had behind. Hinterndorfer opened his arms and Romero saw he had 60,000 behind. Romero took a bit more time and then decided to put Hinterndorfer all-in. Hinterndorfer tanked for a while and decided to make the call. Romero tabled {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for the two pair on the board with the seven-kicker in his hand. Hinterndorfer stared for a while and when the rest of the table confirmed it was a seven, he turned around his {9-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for the nine-kicker to double up.
