Ranon Off the Felt

Level 15 : 4,000/8,000, 8,000 ante

Down to chip dust (13,000), Erwin Ranon moved all-in preflop under the gun. Nearly half of his table made the call, before it got to big blind Barrett Lipkin who moved in himself for 119,000 more. Before the first caller, utg+1 Shaun Zammit, had decided what to do, Lloyd Aalvik in mid position folded out of turn (something called on as not right by Lipkin as it could influence the action). In the end Zammit folded, as did the small blind.

Ranon showed an ace and expressed surprise: "I moved in blind!" - his hand was dominated, however, by the {a-Spades}{q-Clubs} of Lipkin. The board brought a queen straight away, running out {q-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Lipkin picked up enough in blinds and calls to boost his stack over 210,000.
