'Racks' Rolling With Average Stack on Bubble
"I'm alive!" proclaimed Kevin 'Racks' Roster as his opponent folded preflop. The opponent had opened to 9,000 from early position and 'Racks' three-bet him from the button to 27,000, prompting the fold.
On the very next hand, Roster opened from the cutoff to 9,500 and his raise got through everybody as he took down a second consecutive pot before the flop and brought his stack to the current average as the tournament nears the money.
Having an average stack getting near the money is only the secondary story for Roster, however. Having his leg amputated in April of this year and being told last month that he could have anywhere from a few weeks to a few months to live, Roster is here spreading the awareness of Sarcoma, the form of cancer that he was diagnosed with in 2017.
While he is here, there is no question he is enjoying every second of this opportunity.
