Max Kruse completed with the and he tangled with two opponents. One of them had an ace as well and fired on fourth and they all continued to fifth where he paired his ace, so he fired again. Kruse's board rolled up low and he called and so did the third player who deuces out. The three players continued to the river with Kruse all in for last 575 on sixth street. The side pot remained empty as the final street was checked down.
Kruse's neighbor wished the soccer player good luck and Kruse thanked him. "I'm pretty sure I need it," the German striker replied.
He didn't hit a scoop but was able to seize at least half of the pot with eighty-six low, earning half of the third player's invested chips.
