Timofeev Doubles Up Early

Level 18 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante

Anatolii Zyrin in early position limped and it folded to David Worden in middle position who raised to 18,000. The Russian player Denis Timofeev three-bet to 47,000 from the small blind. Zyrin folded to Worden who made the call.

The flop came {4-Spades}{2-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} and Timofeev bet 35,000, but Worden went further, moving all in to put Timofeev at risk for his remaining 129,000 chips. Timofeev, who won the World Series of Poker $1,000 Double Stack Turbo event last year for $199,586 and his first WSOP bracelet, made the call.

Timofeev: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Worden: {k-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}

The turn {3-Diamonds} and river {9-Clubs} were no help to Worden and Timoffev's pocket queens held to give him an early chip advantage.
