Abdel Hamid Triples Up

Level 15 : 1,200/2,400, 3,600 ante

Abdel Hamid was the shortest stack in the field on the stone bubble, but he managed to cruise to the money. And despite not having reached the average, Hamid still remains in contention with 24 players left.

Hamid just tripled up to 28,500, beating Bjorn Geissert and Michael Gathy in a hand that started with Geissert opening to 5,700 from the middle position. Hamid, in the small blind, shoved for about 2,000 more and Gathy joined from the big.

All three players drew one and Hamid opened his wheel draw with {5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}. He hit an {8-} to beat Geissert's {j-}{8-}{6-}{3-}{2-} and Gathy's cards went straight into the muck.
