Van der Peijl Eliminated

Level 7 : 400/800, 100 ante

Wouter van der Peijl was eliminated earlier today and was kind enough to recount what had happened:

The player in the small blind limped in and Van der Peijl checked in the big blind with {a-}{a-}.

The flop came {6-}{7-}{10-} rainbow. Van der Peijl bet 5,000 and his opponent check-snap-called with a bit of frustration.

The turn was an offsuit {2-}, Van der Peijl bet 12,000 which was about pot size and his opponent started chatting about how he couldn't fold and after about 30 seconds made the call.

The river was another {a-}, the small blind checked. Van der Peijl commented that it was a pretty bad card for him, that his opponent could have a better hand, but he didn't think so, so Van der Peijl announced all-in for 55,000. His opponent didn't call immediately and started saying things like, no I had you all the way already. And semi-slow-rolled with {8-Spades}{9-Spades} for the flopped straight to eliminate Van der Peijl.
