Bronshtein Triples with Threes

Level 16 : 1,500/3,000, 500 ante

Yuval Bronshtein tossed in 21,000 in the middle position, leaving himself with 5,500. His neighbor to the left called before the cutoff moved all in. Bronshtein called off and the first caller left the contest.

"I hope you have ace-king," Bronshtein said while rolling over {3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}. Fortunately for him, the other player held {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds} and Bronshtein was flipping for more than a triple-up. He managed to stay ahead on the board of {8-Spades}{5-Clubs}{J-Spades}{K-Spades}{5-Hearts} and boosted his stack to 83,000.
