Klodnicki Jams the River

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Chris Klodnicki was in the small blind, calling a 5,000-bet from a player in the hijack with the flop reading {Q-Spades}{2-Spades}{2-Clubs}. The {9-Spades} turn was checked by both players and the {9-Hearts} river double paired the board. Klodnicki paused for a moment and then slid in a chunk of 5,000-denomination chips to cover his opponent's remaining stack of 13,000 or so. He earned a fast fold and eclipsed the 60,000-mark.

Zinno Turns a Straight

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante
Anthony Zinno earlier this summer
Anthony Zinno earlier this summer

Andrew Kelsall raised to 2,300 from mid-position and got called by the player in late position. Anthony Zinno was up next to act in the hijack and he shoved for 17,500 in total. Action folded back to Kelsall who also folded. The player on Zinno's immediate right called.

Late Position: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Anthony Zinno: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The flop came {8-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts} to give Zinno a pair of tens on flop and a gutshot straight draw.

The {7-Diamonds} on the turn was exactly one of the cards Zinno was looking for to double up.

The {3-Hearts} on the river was just a formality to complete the board and Zinno got paid.

The cutoff opened to 3,000, Kenny Hallaert jammed from the button, and the cutoff called to put himself at risk for about 20,000.

Kenny Hallaert: {A-Spades}{8-Spades}
Button: {K-Hearts}{J-Diamonds}

Hallaert had the preflop edge and his opponent needed to improve in order to double up. The board ran out {A-Clubs}{5-Spades}{4-Diamonds}{J-Clubs}{10-Spades} and Hallaert took the pot with a pair of aces to send his opponent to the rail.

Geshkenbein Toasted

Level 12 : 600/1,200, 200 ante

Vladimir Geshkenbein peeled {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} at the same time when one of his opponents looked down at the {K-Clubs}{K-Hearts}. They got the money in and Geshkenbein found no help on the {9-Diamonds}{Q-Spades}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades}{3-Hearts} board. He had about 25,000 coming to the hand and the other player had him covered by some distance. Geshkenbein wished the table good luck and walked away from the tournament room.

Kirsch Doubles With Kings

Level 13 : 800/1,600, 200 ante

Richard Kirsch just told us that he doubled in a huge pot right before the dinner break. There was a raise to 2,400 and a three-bet to 7,500 before the action got to him. He called holding {K-}{K-}, the original raiser shoved for about 100,000, the three-bettor folded, and Kirsch called to put himself at risk. Kirsch's opponent flipped over {A-}{K-} and didn't get any help from the board so Kirsch took the massive pot.

Farhintaj Bonyadi earlier this summer
Farhintaj Bonyadi earlier this summer

Farhintaj Bonyadi, the 2018 Super Seniors bracelet winner, limped in from under the gun and action folded to Eric Baldwin on the button who shoved for 24,800 in total. The player in the big blind considered it for a while but folded. Bonyadi looked at her cards again and then called.

Eric Baldwin: {A-Diamonds}{J-Spades}
Farhintaj Bonyadi: {9-Spades}{8-Spades}

The board ran out {6-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{2-Hearts} for Bonyadi to hit a pair on the flop and two pair on the turn to eliminate Baldwin from the Closer.

The hand right after that, the player on the button shoved for about 14,000 and Bonyadi now called in the big blind.

Button: {A-Hearts}{4-Spades}
Farhintaj Bonyadi: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}

Now the board ran out {8-Spades}{2-Hearts}{5-Spades}{9-Spades}{2-Spades} for Bonyadi to hit the higher flush to claim her next victim.
