After 18 levels of 30 minutes each, Day 1d of Event #7: $565 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold’em has come to a conclusion at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. In total there were 1,541 entries for the late Sunday flight with 62 players managing to bag and tag their chips for Day 2, which takes place on Tuesday, June 5th. Taking the chip lead honors for Day 1d is Philip Alberquerque with 503,000 in chips.
Alberquerque collected a bunch of those chips when he held pocket kings and eliminated two other players who held pocket tens and jacks. Other big stacks to take notice of today were Daniel Cai (272,000), Alex Foxen (268,000), Maxime Heroux (260,000), Ilkin Amirov (256,000), and WSOP bracelet winner, Safiya Umerova (240,000).
Other notable players that found a bag at the end of the day include Kenny Hallaert, Mihai Niste, Vlad Darie, 10-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey, and one-time bracelet winner Larry Wright.
Unfortunately, not everyone was lucky enough to make it through.
