Laplante Makes a Big Call Against Nguyen in a Monster Pot

Level 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante

Ryan Laplante shared the details of a monster pot where he took most of Shawn Nguyen's chips, who had an above average stack going into the hand.

According to Laplante, Nguyen made a pot sized raise of 3,500 from early position. Laplante was in the small blind and he called. The big blind called as well.

The flop was {Q-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{6-} and action checked to Nguyen who continuation bet for 6,000. Laplante called while the big blind folded.

The turn was the {J-Clubs} and Laplante checked again. Nguyen made a bet of 16,000 and Laplante decided to call.

On the {8-Diamonds} river Laplante checked a third time. Nguyen bet 53,500 and Laplante called. Laplante showed down his {A-Spades}{A-Hearts}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades} for aces and sixes and it was good to earn him the monster pot.

Laplante said that Nguyen got in his stack a few hands later and was eliminated. Laplante is now the largest stack in the tournament with over 180,000 chips.
