Action Set to Get Underway in Second-Ever $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo Championship

Welcome to Day 1 of Event #60: $10,000 Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo 8 or Better Championship. This time last year, mixed game players were gearing up for the very first $10K PLO8 event in WSOP history, and it didn't disappoint, with the event attracting over 200 players and generating a prize pool of close to $2,000,000.

It was Bryce Yockey who emerged triumphant a year ago, winning his first WSOP gold bracelet and taking home $511,147. Yockey wound up needing to get through a bigger field than expected, though. The event's inaugural running drew double the runners of some of the other $10K championship events in 2017, and another big field is expected today.

"Every pro I talked to is like, 'Wow this was an amazing success,'" Yockey said after his victory in 2017. "I think everyone who played it had a good time. I know two guys who flew in just to play this tournament."

Today the action will get underway at 3 p.m. local time. Players will receive 50,000 chips and play ten 60-minute levels on Day 1. There will be 15-minute breaks after every two levels.

Stay tuned to PokerNews for all the action from the latest $10,000 Championship event here at the 49th annual World Series of Poker.
