What Not to Shove in a Super Turbo Bounty Poker Tournament

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Poker player and author Jonathan Little gives advice during the WSOP $1K Super Turbo with Bounties Event. Average stack size is around 20 big blinds. What flexibility do you have with that stack size? How should the $300 bounties factor into your play? What should you be limping with? What should you NOT be limping with? He also comments on how his close friend poker player David Peters plays pots against him.

Watson Speaking With the Deck

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

The board read {2-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds} and Mike Watson checked to his opponent who then bet 2,000 into a pot around 3,200. Watson pushed in his remaining 1,500 and flipped over {q-Hearts}{3-Diamonds} for queen high.

His opponent tabled {5-Clubs}{2-Clubs} for a pair of twos and Watson would need to connect on the run-out. The turn did just that as the {3-Hearts} hit the felt. Watson moved ahead with a pair of threes and the {a-Diamonds} on the river changed nothing as he doubled up.

Markov Gets a Bounty

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Nikolai Markov found himself all in over the top of a short stack and called by a bigger stack. The three players then turned over their hands.

Nikolai Markov: {8-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}
Short Opponent: {a-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Big Opponent: {a-Spades}{5-Spades}

The board ran out {10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts} and Markov's set of eights took down the pot, getting him more than a double-up and a bounty chip at the same time.

West Wins a Battle of the Blinds

Level 10 : 400/800, 100 ante

Tim West was in the big blind and got his stack in the middle before the flop against the player in the small blind, who had him covered.

Tim West: {K-Diamonds}{10-Spades}
Small blind: {A-Diamonds}{5-Spades}

The small blind had the lead and West needed to improve in order to survive. The board ran out {10-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{K-Clubs} and West took the pot with kings up for the double-up.

How to Stay Sane Off the Felt

Level 9 : 300/600, 100 ante

Sasha Liu has been giving herself daily challenges and tweeting about them to keep herself accountable. She explains how this idea came to fruition and why she continues to do it. Maybe it is an attempt for Sasha to stay sane while grinding poker all summer, but has it worked?
