Hands #20-24: Tay Nguyen Goes Runner-Runner to Stay Alive

Level 28 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Hand #20: Jean-Robert Bellande raised to 125,000 under the gun and Tay Nguyen called from the big blind to see a {5-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{6-Clubs} flop. Nguyen check-called a bet of 60,000 and the {K-Diamonds} appeared on the turn. Nguyen checked, Bellande bet 200,000, and Nguyen just called. When the {8-Spades} completed the board on the river, Nguyen checked and Bellande bet 250,000.

Nguyen called and Bellande simply said, "I've got it." He then tabled the {a-Spades}{6-Diamonds} and Nguyen mucked, dropping to 300,000 in the process.

Hand #21: Dean Lyall raised to 135,000 under the gun and Bellande called from the big blind to see an {8-Hearts}{j-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop, which they both checked. Bellande then bet 100,000 on the {6-Clubs} turn Lyall called to see the {8-Spades} river. Bellande bet 125,000 and Lyall folded.

Hand #22: Andrew Graham raised to 125,000 under the gun and Lyall defended his big blind to see a {k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs} flop. Both players checked and the {7-Clubs} paired the board on the turn. Lyall checked and then called when Graham bet 125,000. When the {5-Diamonds} completed the board on the river both players checked and Lyall tabled {K-}{4-} for the win.

Hand #23: Nguyen moved all in under the gun for 240,000 and Graham called from the big blind.

Nguyen: {k-Hearts}{10-Hearts}
Graham: {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}

Nguyen was ahead but not after the {6-Hearts}{a-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop gave Graham trip sixes. Nguyen was drawing to runner-runner and the {Q-Hearts} turn kept his hopes alive. He managed to get there too when the {5-Hearts} spiked on the river.

Hand #24: Bellande raised to 125,000 under the gun and Lyall called the button. Both blinds folded and the flop came down {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. Bellande led out for 100,000, Lyall called, and the {3-Hearts} appeared on the turn. Bellande check-called a bet of 280,000 before action went check-check on the river, a card we didn't catch.

"Ace," Bellande claimed but wouldn't show. He then mucked and Lyall was able to win the pot. "I was claiming an ace," Bellande clarified. "I may not have had that."
