Greene Doubles Up

Level 9 : 400/800, 0 ante

When we got to the table the complete board of {Q-Spades}{J-Clubs}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{A-Hearts} was already out and the cards were on their backs. Dave Greene told us that action had limped around preflop, his opponent had bet 3,000 on the flop from the big blind, and Greene called from the cutoff. The rest of the chips quickly went in on the turn.

Dave Greene: {K-}{K-}{Q-}{10-}
Opponent: {Q-}{J-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-}

Greene had the lead with the nut straight but his opponent had room to improve with a spade, queen, or jack on the river. The {A-Hearts} was the final card, which changed nothing, so Greene took the pot to double up.
