Daniel Negreanu Eliminated in 9th Place ($17,268)

Level 26 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Daniel Negreanu
Daniel Negreanu

Daniel Negreanu managed to spin his way back from crumbs but he fell back to the shortest stack. He tried to climb back again but, unfortunately for him, he raised the pot in a middle position at the same time when Eli Elezra peeled aces in the hijack. Elezra re-raised and Negreanu called for all his remaining chips.

Daniel Negreanu: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}
Eli Elezra: {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{3-Spades}

The {2-Spades}{K-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} flop gave Negreanu some hopes to get a quarter of the pot. He still had a slim chance to scoop but the {A-Spades} turn negated his backdoor opportunity. Negreanu hoped to catch a low card on the river to stay afloat with half of his belongings but he had to surrender it all when the {K-Hearts} appeared on the river.

Matusow Shoves on Conrad

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante
Mike Matusow
Mike Matusow

Mike Matusow opened to 75,000 from middle position and Chris Conrad made the call just one seat over. The flop came down {k-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to see the {10-Hearts} hit the turn. Matusow bet 100,000 and Conrad called.

The {5-Clubs} completed the board on the river and Matusow shoved for 170,000. Conrad folded.

Matusow Knows Best

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu raised to 75,000 in early position and Eli Elezra flatted. No other player joined the contest and Negreanu ended up all in on the flop of {Q-Clubs}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts} for an extra 260,000. Elezra was ready to go.

Daniel Negreanu: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Eli Elezra: {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}

"Chop it up," Mike Matusow said before the {A-Clubs} hit the turn, giving Elezra the wheel.

Matusow, however, stood behind his words. "Chop it up."

The river came {2-Spades} and Negreanu finished with a full house, earning rights for the high half of the pot. Elezra took the other one and they chopped the blinds.

Kim Kallman raised to 80,000 and he found to customers in Eli Elezra (button) and Joey Couden (big blind).

They saw the {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{J-Spades} flop and Couden checked. Kallman also tapped the felt and Elezra announced he was betting the pot. The dealer quickly informed the table that the bet was 255,000 and Couden folded in a second.

Kallman leant forward and eyed Elezra's stack. "It's too much," he said and laid his hand down.

Elezra exposed the {J-}{J-}, showing that he'd flopped it.

Dustin Pattinson: {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{q-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Joe Couden: {a-Clubs}{a-Spades}{10-Clubs}{6-Clubs}

The board ran out {q-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{5-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and the pot was chopped.

Negreanu's Comeback Continues

Level 25 : 15,000/30,000, 0 ante

Daniel Negreanu was in the big blind, facing an 80,000-raise from small blind Kim Kallman. Negreanu called and called again when Kallman put him at risk on the {5-Clubs}{K-Hearts}{2-Clubs} flop.

Kim Kallman: {A-Diamonds}{A-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Daniel Negreanu: {A-Spades}{Q-Hearts}{J-Spades}{3-Spades}

The turn card was the {10-Diamonds} and Negreanu now had a Broadway wrap. He filled up on the {J-Diamonds} river to score yet another double.
